FAQs

Who is the programme for?

The Women’s Academy for Rural Innovation is specifically designed for women over 18 years old, connected to rural areas and with an interest in harnessing the potential of technology within their communities. This includes women living in rural areas, but also for example those now attending university in a city who grew up in a rural area.

No matter their background or experience to date, the programme is looking for women who want to make a difference – whether they are specialists in agriculture, engineering, or eco-tourism, and whether they aspire to be disruptive innovators, businesswomen or digital nomads. Some might be interested in supporting rural areas through their political science or global studies backgrounds – all disciplines are welcomed. The programme welcomes everyone and is tailored to helping participants acquire the skills needed to lead Europe’s rural areas into the forefront of the digital revolution.

Who created this programme?

In an effort to support European talent and foster innovation throughout the continent, it is the goal of HUAWEI’s EU Office to design and fund initiatives aimed at providing training, upskilling and reskilling opportunities to European citizens, so that they can harness the full potential of the digital era.

What is in it for me?

The week-long programme is designed to open your eyes to the possibilities that exist in the digital era. Expert mentors and teachers will guide you in understanding how you can take advantage of new technologies and innovation to make real advances in your rural area. Advances in the type of work that you do and also in the opportunities open to other women and future generations.
You will network with experts and also learn from the other participants as you share experiences and create friendships.
At the end of the programme you will receive a Certificate of Completion from The European Leadership Academy, confirming that you have followed the course and have an understanding of key policies and economic principles that will be valuable in placing your area on the map.
