Momtchil Monov works at Huawei’s EU affairs office in Brussels where he has a threefold responsibility: (i) advising on Policy & Regulatory affairs in relation to fixed and wireless connectivity roll out across the EU (e.g. 5G, 4G / 5G Fixed Wireless Access and Fibre) including, but not limited to, radio spectrum policy, Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) related aspects, green and sustainability aspects, 5G-enabled use cases of smart industry, smart manufacturing, smart cities and villages, smart healthcare as well as representing Huawei within FTTH Council Europe, (ii) advising on Policy & Regulatory affairs in relation to Connected & Automated Mobility and Autonomous Vehicles (e.g. ITS Directive, EU type-approval legislation for motor vehicles and Implementing Act on Automated Driving Systems) including, but not limited to, representing Huawei within the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Working Groups of 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), DigitalEurope, BusinessEurope and (iii) advising on Policy & Regulatory affairs in relation to Cloud's business expansion across the EU (e.g. Data Act, Data Governance Act, GDPR, Sustainability). Prior to joining Huawei, Momtchil Monov worked as Civil Servant at both National and EU levels. Momtchil Monov graduated at the Law School of the Université Libre de Bruxelles and obtained his LL.M. in Advanced European Legal Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges.
